LOS ANGELES, June 20, 2018 – The International Cinematographers Guild (ICG, IATSE Local 600) has named nine honorees for the 2018 Annual Emerging Cinematographer Awards (ECA), spotlighting promising cinematographers and providing crucial exposure needed to succeed in the motion picture industry.
ICG's Emerging Cinematographer Awards gives honorees an opportunity to present themselves as Directors of Photography by entering a short film for consideration to be one of the top selected Honorees.
Since 1996, Cine Gear Expo has served film and video industry professionals by providing them the opportunity to see the newest, cutting-edge equipment; to learn about new production services; and, to catch up with peers in a relaxing and social environment. As we prepare for our 22nd year, we welcome filmmakers to submit their projects to our Film Series. Categories include Music Videos, Independent Short Films, and Student Films.
The entry deadline for the 2017 Emerging Cinematographer Awards has been extended to Wednesday, March 15, 2017, by 11:59 pm PST with a recommended upload start time by 11 pm.

Bruce Doering, who retires at the end of the year after 30 years as executive director of the International Cinematographers Guild (ICG, IATSE Local 600), received a surprise award at the 19th Annual Emerging Cinematographer Awards held at the Directors Guild of America theater in Los Angeles on Sunday, September 27.
Jason Hafer, a camera operator who grew up in Petaluma, has been named a recipient of Hollywood’s Emerging Cinematographer Award for his work as the cinematographer on the short film “Incident on Highway 73.” The sci-fi movie has also garnered a dozen festival awards.

The International Cinematographers Guild (ICG, IATSE Local 600) has named eight honorees and two honorable mentions for its 18th annual Emerging Cinematographer Awards (ECA). The ten short films will be premiered at the Directors Guild of America Theater in Los Angeles on September 28. A New York premiere will follow on October 26 at the School of Visual Arts.
