2008 EMERGING CINEMATOGRAPHER AWARDS ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

The following requirements must be met in order to enter a film for consideration:
Our event gives aspiring cinematographers a chance to exhibit their work and get crucial exposure in a high profile venue.  This event familiarizes the Motion Picture Industry with our members and gives them the chance to see the rising talent at Local 600.

The short films submitted will be reviewed by a panel of distinguished Directors of Photography, Camera Operators and Assistants from across the country.  The panel will select, as finalists, the films that reflect excellence in their craft.

The following requirements must be met in order to enter a film for consideration:

  • Applicants must be members in good standing of Local 600.
  • They cannot presently be classified as a Director of Photography with Local 600.
  • The entrant must have served as the Director of Photography on the short film being submitted.
  • The image creation for the short film can be originated in any format.
  • Films submitted must be no longer than 30 minutes in length.
  • Each submission must include 3 DVD copies of the film for the committee’s screening process. 
  • Each applicant must complete the application form. 

Entry deadline is Monday, March 24, 2008, at 5:30 PM, Pacific Time.

The projects chosen will be screened at the Directors Guild Theater in Hollywood and selected theaters in the Eastern and Central Regions.  Honorees must deliver a print or a DigiBeta copy of their film suitable for screening in a theater.  

The Entry deadline has passed for the upcoming 2008 EC Awards.

The 2009 entry deadline dates will be announced at a later date.
