The following requirements must be met in order to enter a film for consideration:
Our event gives aspiring cinematographers a chance to exhibit their work and get crucial exposure in a high profile venue.  This event familiarizes the Motion Picture Industry with our members and gives them the chance to see the rising talent at Local 600.

The short films submitted will be reviewed by a panel of distinguished Directors of Photography, Camera Operators and Assistants from across the country.  The panel will select, as finalists, the films that reflect excellence in their craft.

The following requirements must be met in order to enter a film for consideration:

• You must be a member in good standing with Local 600
• You are not classified as a Director of Photography with Local 600
• The entrant must have served as the Director of Photography on the majority of the short film being submitted
• The image creation for the short film can be originated in any format
• Films submitted must be no longer than 30 minutes in length
• You must include 3 copies on DVD of the film which will be used for the committee's screening process
• Failure to meet these guidelines disqualifies you
• Complete the application form

Entry deadline is Friday, February 26, 2010, at 5:30 PM, Pacific Time.

After the awards screening at the Directors Guild Theater in Hollywood all winning films will continue to be shown at various theaters throughout the country. Past exhibitions have been screened at Cannes Film Festival and most recently for Camerimage.

In an effort to keep the quality of our show to the highest standards of cinematography and projection, we request that all final films be finished on a 35mm projection print or minimum DigiBeta (720 x 486) quality. The recommended formats are DigiBeta, HDCam, HDCam SR, DVCPro 100, QuickTime (720 x 486 or higher), or 35mm print.
